About Me
I’m Elizabeth Worthington, an artist and illustrator who specializes in large scale drawings. I hold a BA in Illustration from Taylor University and recently earned the “Best of Show” award for my piece Giselle. Often lost in a daydream, I’ve always gone to drawing materials and paper to bring my inner world to life. My work draws from what often goes unsaid, using figures in natural and surrealist settings to illustrate thoughts, feelings, and dreams.
Charcoal is my favorite medium, especially when working at the grand scale. My style tends towards realism, with detailed linework and rich values, while maintaining the raw energy of sketching. Through my work, I aim to bring a bit of magic into ordinary things. Recently, I explored this in a series of wall-sized posters for five classic ballets. Coming from my background in dance, I paid homage to the original styles, themes, and characters, while also capturing the wonder that dancers bring to the stage.
Outside of my artistic practice, you can find me at a ballet barre, enjoying a cup of tea, and wandering the woods.
